- Intensive one-on-one interventions provided to autism participants;
- Services are supervised by a psychologist, special educator, social worker (LCSW), or any qualified professional who meets qualifications in MSDE Regulations;
- Includes assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) provided to participants who are unable to care for themselves;
- A supervisor is involved in planning and regularly reviewing the therapeutic activities and behavior plans, meeting regularly with the participant and the participant’s family, training and supervising the technicians providing intensive individual support services, and observing the participant in the home setting;
- May be received at the waiver participant’s home, school bus, emergency room, or any other community setting ;
- May NOT be provided in the technician’s home, day habilitation, or residential habilitation facility;
- May be provided by one or more direct support staff with ongoing coordination between the staff;
- Must be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week;
- Minimum of 1hr/day, no more than 8 hours/day; and no more than 25hours/week may be provided to a waiver participant;
- The Medical Assistant week is calculated from Sunday to Saturday; unused IISS hours cannot be carried over from week to week.
- The services are goal- and task-oriented;
- The interventions are developed on an individualized basis based on the individualized, written waiver plan of care.
